These Terms are a binding agreement. Please read them with the Privacy Policy, which forms part of these Terms. By creating an account, booking a trip, or using the RYDE apps or services, you accept these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.
RYDE is a corporate ground-transport booking and dispatch service operating in Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Through the RYDE passenger application, the RYDE driver application, and the RYDE administration tools (together, the “Service”), authorised users may request, schedule, and manage passenger road-transport trips that are assigned by RYDE dispatch to participating drivers.
RYDE arranges and dispatches trips that are carried out by drivers and vehicles operating under the applicable transport authorisations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the requirements of the Transport General Authority (TGA). Nothing in these Terms creates an employment, agency, partnership, or joint-venture relationship between you and RYDE except as expressly stated.
2. Definitions
“RYDE”, “we”, “us” — RYDE and its affiliates.
“RYDE Parties” — RYDE together with its owners, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors, and software and technology providers. The disclaimers, limitations of liability, and indemnities in these Terms apply for the benefit of all RYDE Parties.
“User”, “you” — any person who registers for or uses the Service, including passengers, account holders, and persons booking on behalf of others.
“Traveller” — the person who actually takes a trip, who may be the User or a third party booked on their behalf.
“Trip” — a single point-to-point passenger transport service booked through the Service.
“Driver” — an authorised driver who performs Trips dispatched through the Service.
“Content” — software, text, graphics, and materials made available through the Service.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter into a binding contract.
You must use the Service only for lawful purposes and in compliance with the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
If you use the Service on behalf of an organisation, you represent that you are authorised to bind that organisation to these Terms.
4. Accounts and security
Account registration requires accurate information, including your name, email address, mobile number, and the organisational details requested at sign-up. You must keep this information current.
Access is secured by a one-time passcode (OTP) sent to your email. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account and for all activity that occurs under it.
Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use or security breach through the in-app Help & Support section or at rydeksa.com.
You may request closure of your account at any time; certain records (for example, tax invoices) will be retained as required by law — see the Privacy Policy.
5. Bookings and trips
A booking request is an offer to obtain transport. A Trip is confirmed only when RYDE dispatch assigns it; RYDE may decline or cancel a request where a Driver is unavailable, for safety reasons, or for suspected misuse.
You must provide accurate pickup and drop-off details and be ready at the agreed time and place.
Estimated times and fares are indicative and may change with traffic, route, and conditions.
The Service is intended for the lawful transport of persons only. No hazardous, illegal, or prohibited items may be carried.
6. Booking on behalf of another person
The Service allows you to book Trips for other Travellers. If you book on behalf of someone else:
You confirm that you have that Traveller’s authority and consent to share their personal data (such as name and mobile number) with RYDE and the assigned Driver for the purpose of arranging the Trip.
You are responsible for ensuring the Traveller is informed of, and agrees to, these Terms and the Privacy Policy.
You remain responsible for the booking, including applicable fares and any cancellation or no-show charges.
7. Fares, invoices, and VAT
Fares are calculated on the basis published in the app (which may include a base fare, distance, time, vehicle class, and applicable surcharges) or as agreed in your organisation’s corporate arrangement.
Prices are stated in Saudi Riyals (SAR). Where applicable, Value Added Tax (VAT) is added at the prevailing rate and shown on your invoice.
Tax invoices are issued in accordance with the requirements of the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA), including electronic invoicing where applicable.
Payment terms (including any corporate billing, prepayment, or settlement arrangement) are as agreed with your organisation or as presented in the app. Overdue amounts may result in suspension of the Service.
8. Cancellations and no-shows
You may cancel a booking through the app. Cancellation charges may apply once a Driver has been assigned or dispatched, as disclosed at the time of booking or in your corporate arrangement.
If the Traveller is not present within a reasonable waiting period at the pickup point, the Trip may be treated as a no-show and charged accordingly.
RYDE may cancel a Trip without charge to you where required for safety, legal, or operational reasons.
9. Your conduct
You agree not to:
Use the Service for any unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful purpose, or in breach of TGA or other applicable regulations;
Harass, threaten, endanger, or discriminate against any Driver or other person;
Damage vehicles, misrepresent your identity, or submit false documents or bookings;
Interfere with, reverse-engineer, or attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service or its systems;
Resell or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission.
10. Drivers and vehicles
Trips are performed by Drivers operating under applicable Saudi transport authorisations. RYDE takes reasonable steps regarding driver and vehicle verification consistent with regulatory requirements (which may include identity, licence, vehicle, and verification checks). You should treat Drivers and vehicles with respect and follow lawful safety instructions, including seatbelt use.
11. Data protection
We process personal data in accordance with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and its regulations. Our Privacy Policy explains what we collect (including location data during Trips), why, the legal bases, retention, your rights, and how we handle any transfer of data outside the Kingdom. By using the Service you confirm you have read it.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia:
The Service is provided on an “as available” basis. We do not warrant uninterrupted or error-free operation, or that estimates (time, route, fare) will be exact.
We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, data, or goodwill.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable Saudi law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Where liability is established and may lawfully be limited, our aggregate liability arising from a Trip is limited to the amount you paid for that Trip.
These disclaimers and limitations apply for the benefit of all RYDE Parties.
13. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold the RYDE Parties harmless from claims, losses, and expenses arising from your breach of these Terms, your misuse of the Service, your violation of law, or your infringement of the rights of any third party (including a Traveller you booked on behalf of).
14. Intellectual property
The Service, the RYDE name and logo, and all related Content are owned by RYDE or its licensors and are protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the apps for their intended purpose. You may not copy, modify, distribute, or create derivative works except as permitted by law.
15. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your access, with or without notice, if you breach these Terms, create risk or legal exposure, or misuse the Service. You may stop using the Service at any time. Provisions that by their nature should survive termination (including fees due, data-retention obligations, liability, indemnity, and governing law) will survive.
16. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws and regulations of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Any dispute arising out of or relating to the Service or these Terms shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the competent courts and authorities of Riyadh, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Where an Arabic-language version of these Terms is published, the Arabic version shall prevail in the event of any conflict.
17. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Last updated” date shows the current version. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email where appropriate. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.
